Jill Scott (MBE) - it has a nice ring to it.
The England Women star was awarded an MBE yesterday in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list. The title was given in recognition of her services to women’s football.
Not only has Scott helped her team make it to the semi-final of the 2019 Women’s World Cup, she has also been involved in 146 England games in her senior career.

She has played in the 2012 Olympics, a European Championship and two World Cups in her 13 years in the England squad but her ‘services to women’s football’ do not end there.
Scott has started her own football school for young girls. The star’s JS8 schools are run all over the country and are for girls aged between six to 18. Her goal was to normalise girls playing football.
More than half of this year’s award recipients were women. Alongside Scott, several other sportswomen were acknowledged.
Damehood:
Baroness Sue Campbell - chairman of UK Sport from 2003 to 2013 and now director of women’s football at the FA.
OBEs:
Catriona Matthew - golfer
Jade Jones - taekwondo world champion

Serena Guthrie - England netball player
